Protecting Your Precious Skin Before Winter

“I regret taking such good care of my skin” – Said no one ever.

Fact: Skin care isn’t just about your skin routine, it’s also about your health. Bad eating can cause acne and blemishes.

Where do I start if I want to prep my skin for winter?

Winter is approaching quickly and you’re focused on gifts, Christmas deals and of course holiday feasts. However, one of your main focuses should be your skin care. No matter whether you have dry or oily skin, we must protect our precious looks from the dry, and freezing weather. You don’t need any expensive products, Clarisonics or professional skin treatment to achieve healthy skin, simply follow these tips and you will have your skin looking glossier than ever.

When washing your face always wash in Lukewarm water to open your pores, when finished soak a clean washcloth in cold water and apply to your face. This closes your pores to avoid dirt or makeup to sneak it’s way in after your deep cleansing.

Moisturize time, whether you use lotion or expensive skin creams, make sure you’re moisturizing immediately after your shower and/or washing your face. However, over exfoliating can remove your skin’s essential oils, and cause more damage than it does good.

Drink Water. I know you hear this all the time and I’m not your health coach, however drinking at least 50 oz of water each day consistently will keep your skin and your body hydrated. It’s a win, win for everyone!

Purchase a Humidifier, with the cold air arising your skin is going to need a pick me up and needs more natural moisture. This will guarantee your skin will never become excessively dry, place one in your room and ta-da! Natural moisture.

Overnight Moisturize. This tip is completely different from daytime moisturizing, once you’ve removed your makeup for the day or rinsing your face before bed, load up on moisturizer. Honestly as weird as it sounds, get your face as greasy as possible, overnight moisturizing is the most important step to avoid dry, flakey skin in the morning.

You don’t have to dread winter weather anymore, follow these steps and your skin will be all ready and moisturized.
